SITE INFORMATION
Privacy Policy
We use limited technical data to deliver files, prevent abuse, and understand whether the site is working.
Effective 4 October 2026
Information we process
You do not need an account to use the free downloader. When you make a request, the service processes the link you enter and technical data such as IP address, browser user agent, time, and request outcome.
To apply limits, the API derives salted hashes of visitor and network identifiers. The relay necessarily sees the requesting IP address while delivering a file.
How information is used
We use this information to validate links, deliver files, measure reliability and traffic, investigate errors, and limit abusive or automated use.
We do not use your submitted link to build a public video catalog or sell the link to advertisers.
Retention and sharing
Relay application logs are configured for short retention. Quota, abuse, and operational records may be retained for different periods needed to operate the service and investigate incidents.
We do not sell personal information. Service providers process information needed to host, protect, and measure the site, subject to their own policies.
Cookies and security checks
The site uses a necessary visitor identifier cookie named vid to apply limits and prevent abuse. It is valid for up to one year. We do not require a marketing cookie for the free downloader.
Cloudflare Turnstile may present a security challenge and process data to distinguish humans from automated traffic. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of that data.
Third-party services
Cloudflare provides hosting, network protection, Turnstile, and privacy-focused Web Analytics. Web Analytics is intended to work without a visitor cookie.
The download relay is planned for a Hetzner server in Europe. A video platform receives a request from our service to resolve and fetch the public video you choose.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us to request review.
We do not knowingly create profiles of children or offer accounts in the free downloader.
Your choices
You can stop using the service, clear the vid cookie in your browser, or ask about access or deletion by emailing hello@video2mp4.com. Clearing the cookie may trigger additional security checks.
We will assess requests under the laws that apply to your location and may retain limited records when required for security or legal reasons.
