X posts can contain text, pictures, animated GIFs, video, or a mixture of media. This page is for a public status that actually contains playable video. Open the individual post, copy its x.com/.../status/... address, and paste it above. Older twitter.com/.../status/... links are recognized as well. The link detector checks the host and status path before a network request. A status URL is more precise than a profile or search link. If you copied a post from a timeline, open it before copying the browser address; otherwise you may copy the timeline’s location rather than the media post. The numeric status ID is the part that identifies the post. A short share message may include extra text, and the input tries to locate the URL inside it. Confirm the X label appears before clicking Download. If the link points to a quote post, be careful: the quoted post and the quoting post can have different media.
Choose Save MP4 after reviewing the format list. The main button favors an eligible format up to 1080p. Other choices may be smaller, which can help when using mobile data. The browser saves an attachment from the relay; it does not load the entire video into this page’s memory. A signed link is tied to the current visitor and expires quickly. X and Twitter status URL shapes
A supported address normally looks like x.com/username/status/123... or the older twitter.com/username/status/123.... Links using X’s internal status route can also be recognized. A profile address has no specific status ID. A Moments page, search query, hashtag, Direct Message, or Space is not the same input. Use the share control on the post itself to obtain the status link. If an app generated a redirect, open it in a browser and copy the final public status address.
X permits posts with different media types. The fact that a status path matches does not mean an MP4 exists. A still photo does not turn into video because it is in a post; a text-only post also has no rendition for the downloader. Animated GIFs on social platforms are often represented by video-like media internally, but the tool only offers a result when its extractor finds a compatible MP4 source. Do not assume every GIF will produce a file. The format list is the source of truth for this specific status.

If the original is silent, the relay cannot create a soundtrack. If sound exists but your file seems silent, make sure the attachment finished downloading and try a different player or an available lower-quality format. The current tool does not export audio-only files, Spaces audio, captions, or a full archive of an X account.
The service limits a single file to 2 GB and the current video flow to one hour. These limits prevent a very large post from consuming the shared download relay. A format that exceeds a known cap remains visible with a reason, and a smaller allowed choice may still be available. For an editing project, a file provided directly by the post owner is preferable to a recompressed viewer rendition. Respect the rights in clips you did not make; reposting a downloaded file is a separate decision from saving an authorized copy.
What this tool excludes
Protected posts, private messages, deleted statuses, live streams, Spaces sessions, DRM-protected content, and media requiring a login or entitlement are outside the public-link flow. The status may be region-restricted or otherwise blocked from the resolver’s network even when it loads for you. The site will show a specific error when it can classify the failure. Retrying the same inaccessible link repeatedly will not grant different X permissions and can consume your rate-limit allowance.
The tool does not remove creator attribution, change the video, or promise a watermark-free file. It transfers an eligible rendition as MP4. X’s public visibility does not grant unrestricted rights to reuse the clip, and an embedded video may belong to a different rightsholder. Download only what you own or have permission to save. If you need an accessible copy for a production, ask the creator for the source file and licensing terms.
Troubleshooting an X video link
The site says the link is invalid. Look for /status/ followed by the full numeric ID and an accepted X or Twitter host. Copy the post itself, not a profile, search, or notification page. A screenshot of a post contains no URL. If your messaging app shortens or wraps the address, open the link in a browser and copy the final status page. Remove punctuation added after the URL by a sentence.
The post opens but no video is listed. It may contain still images, text, or an external card instead of X-hosted video. Open the post without logging in and play the media there. If it is a protected post, the resolver cannot use your follower relationship. Animated GIFs are only offered when the extractor returns a video-like rendition; the GIF label in the X interface is not itself a guarantee of an MP4 here.
The result is lower quality than expected. Compare the available choices, but remember the uploaded and delivered renditions set the ceiling. The default favors a compatible file up to 1080p; it does not manufacture high definition. If the best choice is small, ask the creator for the original. A size estimate may be missing even for a valid file. If storage is limited, a lower format can be more useful than waiting for a larger transfer.
The download stopped or did not appear in my gallery. Keep the page open while any preparation completes, then check the browser’s Downloads list.
